Privacy Policy
Blabber Boards lets you design a message or image and submit it for display on a digital billboard. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Blabber Boards website (blabberboards.com) and mobile apps (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. The Service is operated by Blabber Boards LLC ("we", "us").
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, the display name you choose, and your password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see them.
- Single sign-on. If you sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from that provider. We don't receive your password for those accounts or access to anything else in them. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we receive a private relay address instead.
- Content you create. The designs you make and submit, including text, photos you upload, and the finished image, along with which billboard you chose and when you submitted it.
- Moderation records. Whether each submission was approved or rejected (and any reason given), and whether an account has been suspended.
- Technical information. Like most online services, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log basic technical data such as IP addresses, browser or device type, and the time of requests, for security and reliability.
We don't collect your location, contacts or payment information, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. The Service stores a sign-in token on your device only to keep you signed in.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To review submissions and display approved designs on billboards.
- To send account emails, such as email confirmation and password resets. We don't send marketing emails.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and community rules, prevent abuse, and keep the Service safe.
- To comply with the law.
Approved designs are shown in public
Designs that we approve are displayed on physical billboards in public places, where anyone can see them and may photograph them. Please don't include personal information (yours or anyone else's) in a design. Your display name and email are not shown on billboards.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run the Service for us: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Bluehost (website hosting and outgoing email) and Cloudflare (website delivery and security). They process information only to provide their services to us.
- Sign-in providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple), only when you choose to sign in with them, as described above.
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law, or when needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us.
- A successor if the Service is sold or transferred, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
Information from Google
If you sign in with Google, we use only your basic profile (name and email address) to create and sign in to your account. Blabber Boards' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use this information for advertising, and we don't sell it or share it except as described in this policy.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, profile, submissions and uploaded images. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time until those backups are overwritten. A design that was already loaded onto a billboard is removed at that billboard's next content update.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls that limit each account to its own data, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if required by law.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can update your display name and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, email privacy@blabberboards.com. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Where information is stored
Information is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll notify you in the Service or by email.
